JACKY CHENG

SAN JOSE STATE UNIVERSITY

Jacky Cheng is a native San Franciscan currently attending San Jose State

University as an undergraduate BA Linguistics student. With a passion

for Linguistics, TESOL, and interests in the Korean language, he hopes to teach English abroad in South Korea after graduating in Fall 2017.

UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO

LI LI

After 6 years of teaching English in a private college in southern China, Li took a trip to U.S. During this trip, she visited some schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. Li discovered teachers were applying various teaching strategies in class, which seemed just like a new continent for her. Li then decided to continue her studies and sharpen her skills in English teaching. In 2015, Li enrolled in the University of San Francisco. At the University of San Francisco, Li has learned more about how to serve English learners and meet their needs. As Li's graduation commencement in December is approaching, she hopes to become a passionate English teacher who can help her students with what she has learned in the U.S. 

CUIYING RHODES

UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO

Cuiying Rhodes is an MA student in TESOL at the University of San Francisco. Her teaching experience includes being an instructor in the Non-Credit ESL Program at Gavilan Community College and ESL instructor at the ELS Education Service.

LUSHA SHA

Born and raised in China, Lusha Sha got her bachelor's degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language in her home country. The enthusiasm for languages and teaching made her decide to study abroad in the United States. Lusha is currently a TESOL major graduate student from the School of Education, University of San Francisco, and will complete the program in December 2017. Inspired by the spirit of Silicon Valley, Lusha tries to use design thinking in her teaching and hopes to utilize instructional technology in ESL classrooms. 

SAN JOSE STATE UNIVERSITY

KHOI TONG

Khoi Tong is a MA Linguistic Student at SJSU. Although her focus is Computational Linguistic, she is particularly interested in heritage language learning and teaching. After her graduation in December 2017, Khoi plans to teach Vietnamese for Vietnamese-American learners in post-secondary institutions.
